I use a 'talk city' chat room.
You can either use it via the web, or by IRC.
Instructions on web access
1.To access it using the web, click
here
A new window will download, which will allow you to sign in.
2. If you are a talkcity member, logon with your talkcity ID and password on the left
If you are not a talkcity member, choose a nickname and sign on on the right.
(note, you may not be able to use certain nicknames because they are reserved by chat city members)
You do not have to enter an email address if you do not want to.
3. If your browser is java enabled, choose 'ez-talk lite'. If your browser is not java enabled, or if you are behind a firewall, choose 'ez-talk web'.
4. Click on 'Enter Icefire'. A new window will download, which contains the chat room!
Instructions on IRC access
1. Point your IRC client to chat.talkcity.com:6667
2. type in /join #Icefire
Note, again, you may not be able to use certain nicknames due to the fact that talkcity users have reserved them.
